Man of Steel and Ironman 3 stole the hype from Star Trek: Into Darkness, but trust me, out of the three, Star Trek is supreme. I wasn't even that set on going to the theater to watch it myself. The 1st movie wasn't all that impressive and this year is full of tons of great films, but I'm so glad I went to see this. Complex, fast paced, and rich, Star Trek brings all the blaze and class that I want out of my summer blockbuster. Sure, there were fantastic explosions and stardom, but the plot brought in a deep story and artistically done scenes. Benedict Cumberbatch was brilliant as the villain—causing you to both pity and horrify his character—and, the rest of the cast played their quirky, unique characters that made Star Trek so popular originally. I didn't even mind J.J.'s lends flare through it all. Of the movies I've seen in theaters the last two years, Star Trek: Into Darkness is easily the best and deserves far more than it got.
