I know that most people aren't impressed by this movie, but I find its really enjoyable as soon as you know what to expect. Signs reminds me of Jaws, in that you're connected with regular people dealing with a terrifying, unseen danger. It's a movie focused on thrilling the audience, not grotesquely horrifying—so it's really great for people like me who aren't fans of horror. The main focus of the film centers on the Hess family as well as Graham Hess' conflicting ideas on faith. Most people probably dislike the overly dull acting and semi-disfuctional script, but I think it gives character to the film. Just like in Shyamalans' Sixth Sense, the normalcy of the characters makes the movie even better, balancing the mystery with a family's search for unity.
